Rain is coming back in a drama!

It has been 5 long years since global star Rain starred in a Korean drama. The wait is finally over as his role in the spy melodrama, “Fugitive,” has been confirmed.
He has been cast as the main character in KBS 2TV's new drama which will mark big hit drama 'Choono's dramatist 'Cheon Seong-Il's second collaboration with director 'Kwak Jeong-Howan'.
Director 'Kwak Jeong-Howan' expressed, "I've decided to make the drama with Rain and 'Cheon Seong-Il'. This drama will be organized from late September to October, but the details of the drama are a closely guarded. It has not been decided whether it will be a 16-hour miniseries or a 20-hour miniseries, or a cloak-and-dagger story or not."
Rain’s past dramas include “Sangdoo, Let’s Go to School” (2003), the ever popular “Full House” (2004) which made him one of the influences sustaining the Hallyu Wave, and the revenge driven “A Love to Kill” (2005). He has also acted in the Korean movie, “I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK” (2006) where he played a patient in a mental facility.
His venture into Hollywood was widely received internationally through his debut in “Speed Racer” (2008) and later, the action packed “Ninja Assassin” (2009) in which he was the lead character.
While the director has been careful enough not to reveal too much about the drama’s plot and of Rain’s fellow cast members, one thing is certain, you certainly will be seeing Rain a lot more often as this marks his long-awaited return to the Kdrama scene. As we’ve already seen more or less what Rain had to offer in Ninja Assassin, I’m curious as to what his character in Fugitive would be like. Are you excited?
